Zerone Duo

“Zerone Duo” an interdisciplinary collective focusing on sound and music, was found in 2018 by two Iranian composer-performers, Deniz Tafaghodi and Farbod Maeen.

Deniz Tafaghodi (b. 1997) is an Iranian pianist and sound artist based in Toronto. She started her musical journey at the age of six, specializing in classical piano, and earned her degree in Music (Piano Performance) from Art & Architecture University of Tehran. Since 2016, Deniz has been an active collaborator in various mediums, including live electro- acoustic/audiovisual performances, sound installations, sound design for theaters, contemporary dance performances, and computer games. Farbod Maeen (b. 1985) is an Iranian audiovisual composer-performer based in Toronto. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Interior Design Architecture. His musical journey began with playing the guitar. Farbod embarked on his career as a sound designer in 2012, composing music for Iranian contemporary dance performances. He continues to collaborate with collectives, contributing as both a visual and sound artist.
