MASAYUKI TOMITA CA/ON
Working primarily with modular synthesis, he builds deep, rhythmic soundscapes in real time balancing precision, restraint, and raw analog energy.
Masayuki Tomita is a Toronto-based electronic artist focused on analog machines and modular systems. His work moves through minimal, sub-driven structures, with shifting textures and raw sonic edges.
With a background in vinyl culture and record production, his approach is grounded in physical sound and process. His latest 12” EP 物質依存 (Busshitz Izon) captures this direction — direct, functional, and uncompromising.
Masayuki Tomita announces the release from his newly established label. Following nearly a year of conceptual development, the project is now presented with a fully realized artistic vision and a refined sonic identity.
The release is composed entirely using analog gears and modular synthesizers, reflecting a meticulous and exploratory production approach. From the driving groove of the opening track “Manitoba” to the ambient and experimental soundscapes of the fourth track “Bioluminescence,” the work maintains a cohesive yet eclectic character, seamlessly integrating diverse musical elements.
Characterized by its nuanced sense of space and subtle fluctuations, the collection balances atmospheric depth with sharp, experimental textures. This debut marks the beginning of a broader creative initiative, with three additional releases already scheduled to follow on the same label.
